Just this week, the U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer threw out the lawsuit that Musk had filed against the Centre to Counter Digital Hate (CCDH) because it was, ‘in part retaliatory’.
The lawsuit, in the judge’s words: ‘was motivated at least in part by Musk’s concern over the photos of X and those who published them, not the information about the scandal written by CCDH.’ With that ruling, Musk’s image as a protector of the free exchange of ideas has taken a hit.
